FIFA President Gianni Infantino Clicked Selfie Near Pele’s Open Casket at His Funeral

The infamous FIFA president, Gianni Infantino was snapped while taking a selfie right next to football legend Pele’s open casket and became the center of attention in a bizarre way.

The Italian FIFA president was one of many who were seen visiting to pay their last homage and tribute to the legendary Pele, who made what football the sport it is today and put Brazil on the map, and till date remains the only three-time World Cup winner.

He passed away on 9th December 2022 aged 82-year-old. His casket was located at the Vila Berlmiro, which is home to his long-term Brazilian football club, Santos. Pele’s casket was placed to be on full display to the thousands of mourners who flocked to pay their final tribute to the legend.

Pele’s casket was put on a temporary structure around which his mourners, which included his wife and brother, could pass through while seeing for one final time.

However, amidst the tears and wails of the fans who had gathered to bid their goodbyes, the infamous FIFA president, Gianni Infantino was seen taking a selfie barely some feet away from Pele’s open casket.

The bogus FIFA president, who had earlier made a fool out of himself with the “today I feel..” speech right before the 2022 FIFA World Cup, was seen to be stretching his arm out clumsily in an awkward position while trying to take selfie with a group of men. Pele’s ex teammate from Santos, Manoel Maria was next to Infantino while the picture was being taken.

Infantino was caught in an awkward situation when he struggled to click the photo in the right angle, so another mourner who visited, grabbed the phone from Gianni and showed him how it was done correctly by sliding sideby the FIFA president.

Right next to the selfie disaster of Infantino, Pele’s own sister was seen having a conversation with another mourner. Pele’s widow and his own son were also captured being consoled by the President.

The legendary Pele’s funeral was attended by every head of the South American Brazilian football confederations and other elite football officials during a 24-hour timeline. However, Infantino was noticed being an attention-seeker frequently in the past few weeks.

“We’re going to ask every country in the world to name one of their football stadiums with the name of Pele,” said the infamous Infantino.
