FC Barcelona working on deal to bring Lionel Messi to Camp Nou

Barcelona: Lionel Messi might be on his way to return to FC Barcelona if Barca can strike a complicated deal with his agent Jorge Messi who also happens to be his father as well.

Jorge Messi was recently seen in Barcelona with his son Rodrigo Messi apparently to meet Joan Laporta the current president of FC Barcelona.

Messi to return to Barcelona

According to certain reports, it appears that the Argentine captain is not happy with life at Paris Saint Germain mainly due to the project that the club has built and with the overall management direction that the club has been heading into.

Although there are no concrete reports to suggest that thing in the last match of UCL against Bayern Munich it seemed that Messi was disappointed with the overall effort of the team and the fact that he was the one who was dribbling the whole game and no one supported him was enough to indicate that he was unhappy at the Parisian club.

The current situation at PSG

PSG is interested in extending Messi’s stay at the club, and Barcelona has been linked with a possible reunion with the Argentine forward. However, Messi’s father, Jorge, did note last month that he does not “think” that the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner will return to Barca because the “conditions are not there.”

And with the subpar performances of PSG at the UCL it has become quite clear that Messi will not stay at the club and will look elsewhere with many options being cited and his priority is to stay in Europe for at least 2 seasons more to achieve his goals

The legal issues in Spain

Gerard Romero has broken quite a little news recently over a possible return for Lionel Messi, suggesting that there is approximately a 60% chance of the Icon returning to Camp Nou.

Camp Nou will go through renovations over the next two seasons, which means Barça would have to move to Montjuic. However, Romero says that, in his opinion, Barcelona could start the next season at the Camp Nou instead of the Montjuic should Messi return.

He has now issued a key update on the situation, reporting that Barcelona’s legal team is already in talks with Leo over a possible return. The main worry for Messi’s comeback for both, the player and the club would be the taxation issues. However, Barcelona is working to significantly trim down the wage bill, which should make his registration significantly easier.

A lot of things need to go right for Barcelona to make this move happen – largely financial. There is also the emotional side of things, though, as Leo and club president Joan Laporta are said to have bad blood between them.

Laporta campaigned for the Barcelona presidency using Messi’s name, but could not hand the player an extension on his expiring contract as the club was in financial turmoil. Since then, there has been no communication between the two parties personally, even though they met at the FIFA The Best Awards gala.
