In a major development for the La Liga champions, Nico and Barca has decided to seal the deal for a summer transfer next year, after the conclusion of ongoing season.

Nico Williams- a Spanish wonderkid

Spain seems to have risen once again to become the powerhouse of young talents in recent days. With the surging popularity of football academies of FC Barcelona and Real Madrid, among others, Spanish youngsters are slowly and steadily paving the way into the top ranks. Owing to their exploits in several academy games before showcasing their meteoric rise, they are plying their trades for national teams, with latest additions being Barca wonderkid and a La Masia prodigy, Lamine Yamal. The 16-year old kid, who has already experienced records tumble when he bagged his maiden international goals for his country in his debut game, before continuing his record breaking spree to become the youngest UEFA Champions League starter for Barca, has created havoc in the Spanish football circuit.

Another youngster, who has been around the block since few years, and has been on the radar of several heavyweights like FC Barcelona, Nico Williams, has finally decided to sport the Catalan colors from next season, as it is reported that a total agreement has been reached between the player and the club. The defending Spanish champions had been prying on Nico since few months, and has finally decided to go for the kill, springing in a surprise deal for the youngster, after contacting his entourage and discussing the deal with him.

A clever move

Nico has been on the radar for the reigning champions, but it was previously reported that Barca might have to let go off their target as he was very close to agreeing on a contract extension at his present club Athletic Bilbao. The 21-year old winger was expected to renew it, but heavyweights like Barcelona had monitored his situation impeccably as they had no intention to pay any fee for his signing, but had Nico renewed it, the doors of transfer would have been shut. But, according to latest reports, thee has been a modification in the script, thus the Basque club eager to let go their star to Barcelona.

Nico, if the aforementioned news is proved, might join his former Bilbao teammate Inigo Martinez, as the Spaniard had run down his contract at the Basque club to join FC Barcelona on a free transfer. Thus, a possible Nico and Martinez reunion might be well on the cards, as he would be preparing to switch his allegiance.

Nico’s addition would bolster Barca’s wings as his pace, dynamism would add to the ranks of Barca, thus strengthening the attacking sector for Xavi. Already having Ferran, Gavi and Yamal on the flanks, Nico’s addition would prove valuable for the reigning champions.
