Erling Haaland cannot stop scoring this season for Manchester City and his 29th minute strike against Bornmuth broke another record in Premier League as the Norwegian became most goal scorer for City in a season.

With his strike against Bornmouth, Haaland scored his 27th goal of the season. This is the most that any striker to have ever played for City has scored.

Haaland scores most goals for Man City in a season

The previous record was obviously held by the Man City Legend Sergio Aguero. The Argentine forward had scored a total of 26 goals in the 2014/15 season, and came close to breaking his own record in 2015/16 season with 24 goals. But was never able to do so.

Haaland has broken that record in his first season itself. It took him just 24 appearances in the league to break the record. And this is not the only record that Haaland has broken this season.

Earlier, he became the fastest player to score 15 goals, which he completed in just 9 games. Furthermore, he also broke the record for fastest 3 and 4 hattricks in Premier League.

Furthermore, his stats for Manchester City just keeps getting better. He has featured in just 33 games for CIty this season and has managed to find the same number of goals as well.

So, one can say that Haaland is definitely in a record breaking spree. And with his 27th goal of the season at the back of the net, he will be eyeing the record of most goals in the season.

Currently the record of most goals in a season is 34, it is held by Newcastle Legend Alan Shearer and United Legend Andy Cole. And Haaland is just 7 goals away from breaking that record.

Given the games that Haaland has at his hand, it will only be a surprise if he fails to reach that target, and make the record his own.
