Emiliano Martinez Reveals Truth About Kylian Mbappe Doll during World Cup Parade

Argentinian goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez found himself embroiled in controversy owing to his infamous celebrations after his 2022 World Cup victory over France in penalty.

However, what escalated things was when Emi Martinez targeted the French icon Kylian Mbappe, who had scored past Martinez four times in the same night of the finals, during his locker room celebrations.

Emiliano Martinez has opened up now about what exactly had happened after the match and during the controversial celebrations later in Buenos Aires while speaking with France football.

Martinez while speaking to the French media outlet confessed that people thew many dolls along the journey at them [Argentinian team], and just like that a doll with Kylian Mbappe’s face fell on his feet, which he picked up because it made him laugh.

Martinez insisted that he had grabbed the doll only for “two” seconds and the had thrown it back and kept saying how could make fun of Mbappe.

Martinez went on to say that since he had scored four goals against him in the finals, he [Mbappe] must be thinking that “I’m his doll,” in Emi’s own words.

All Praise for Mbappe

Martinez clarified that he had enormous respect for Mbappe and that according to him Mbappe was the best French player he had ever seen in his life.

The Aston Villa goalkeeper also recalled a conversation he had with Mbappe soon after Argentina’s victory, where he told Mbappe that he could be proud of himself and hold his head high up because he had a great match and was one of the best players in the world.

Martinez apparently also told Mbappe that it was a pleasure to play against him and that he almost singlehandedly won the World Cup final for France alone.

 “He is a boy with immense talent. I realized facing him that, he is different,” said Martinez.

At the end he rubbed a cheeky ending saying that Kylian Mbappe will go on to many Ballon d’Ors, but only when Lionel Messi leaves football, which is not quite surprising considering it is Emiliano Martinez we are talking about.
