Eden Hazard Says “Will Accept” Real Madrid Exit Amidst Chelsea Speculations

Eden Hazard has finally acknowledged that his injury-infested career at the Spanish capital with Real Madrid might be over sooner than he had expected. But he also did ascertain that he still wants to prove his capabilities in front of the Bernabeu audience.

The 31-year-old is all set to fly for the FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar with the Belgian national team and geared up to showcase all his abilities in what might prove to be his last World Cup ever. But amidst all that, he has mentally prepared for future engagements with his club.

Eden Hazard willing to leave Madrid

The Belgian forward has been struggling to survive his La Liga move since he stepped foot in Spain. He has been fighting for his life while playing at the Bernabeu, trying to recapture the long-lost fame he enjoyed in the Premier League. But all his attempts were futile as he went from being a deadly lethal weapon in London to remaining just a mere injury-plagued extra lacking any moment of shine in the Spanish capital.

Hazard has made only three La Liga appearances this season and only 51 in total since he joined the Spanish giants. Even when he is healthy, he no longer remains the first preference as a starter under manager Carlo Ancelotti. This seems even more shameful when one realizes that Hazard holds the record for most ‘Man of the Match’ (62) awards during his time in the Premier League; he played there for only 7 seasons.

“If the club tells me ‘Eden, thanks for four years, but you have to go’, I have to accept it because it’s normal. But I would like to play more, show more that I can play, that I am a good player,” Hazard told Marca.

In response to the constant rumours linking him with a grand return to play for Chelsea again, he said, “Chelsea? I was never close to returning or leaving Real Madrid in general. Chelsea have never called me.”

After ascertaining that a January transfer is impossible, he also confirmed that departure from Bernabeu in the summer might be coming and he will abide by it even though he has another year of contract with Real Madrid till 2024. We can only conclude that since he will be 33-year-old by the time his contract expires and after reaching the gloom of his career, it is only good for him to sign while he has suitors.
