Cristiano Ronaldo, Manchester United Part Ways After Disastrous Interview

Cristiano Ronaldo, who has been playing forward for Manchester United, will leave the club with it falling into effect immediately, said the Premier League club on Tuesday. Which will mark an acidic ending to the 37-year-old’s short-lived second run at Old Trafford.

What makes this even more bitter is the fact that, in a way, it has confirmed specific allegations put forward by the striker against the club. In the bombshell interview with Piers Morgan, Ronaldo said that he felt “betrayed” by the club and did not respect the current manager Erik Ten Hag, putting him in a shaky relationship with the club. All this fiasco had led the red devils to establish the facts first and initiate “appropriate steps,” which is what we are seeing unfold now.

Manchester United terminate Ronaldo’s contract

“Cristiano Ronaldo is to leave Manchester United by mutual agreement, with immediate effect. The club thanks him for his immense contribution across two spells at Old Trafford, scoring 145 goals in 346 appearances, and wishes him and his family well for the future,” said United in their official statement.

They went ahead to show their solidarity with the manager Ten Hag in a sly manner, adding, “Everyone at United remains focused on continuing the team’s progress under Ten Hag and working together to deliver success on the pitch.”

Ronaldo’s opinion of his fans is as rigid as ever; in his statement on Tuesday, he reinstalled that he loved the club and his fans;

“..That will never ever change,” he said. “However, it feels like the right time for me to seek a new challenge. I wish the team every success for the remainder of the season and for the future.”

The supporters of the club’s decision believe that the club and the manager should always have the support of the fans, and not a lone individual player because the club existed before Cristiano Ronaldo and will exist long after he has perished. But is this mentality really true? Because Ronaldo’s spells at United indeed had won the red devils all their significant trophies. Only time will tell what comes next.
