Cristiano Ronaldo is Not 25-year-old Anymore Says Eric Cantona

Cristiano Ronaldo had earlier left Premier League giants, Manchester United after having a rough half of the season with United boss Erik ten Hag and exposing the executives in an interview with Piers Morgan and saying he had no respect for ten Hag.

Ronaldo has now moved on to Saudi club Al-Nassr with a deal which has made him the best paid player of all time.

However, Eric Cantona, who had retired from his career right before turning 31 has his two cents of opinion on the 37-year-old Cristiano Ronaldo.

He believes that Cristiano is a very different type of footballer. He thinks that the Portuguese legend is not ready and willing to accept the fact that he is slowly losing his legendary skills as he ages.

Eric Cantona slams Cristiano Ronaldo

Cantona has said in a latest interview that Ronaldo had come back to Manchester United and finding that United was not United anymore he left and that he does not sometimes realise that things really do change. Hence, he was surprised that so many things have changed.

Cantona believes that there are two types of players at the twilight of their careers, seeing the approaching end. He also mentioned that he had decided to retire young and that it was a different thing [ironic].

He went ahead and said that unlike him, there are the players who wants to play and play until the age of 40. Here there are again two types of players.

Cantona clarified that that there was one who wanted to play each and every game because they still had the mentality that they were 25-year-old and then there were the ones who have realised that they were not 25 anymore, and that their presence is to help younger players.

“They know they will not play every game, they know they will play some games, but their part is to help the young players, like Zlatan Ibrahimovic still does with AC Milan, or Ryan Giggs or Paolo Maldini did,” Cantona said.

Cantona went in with his brutal claim that he thought Ronaldo didn’t realized he and still doesn’t realizes the fact that he is not 25-year-old anymore.

“He’s just older and he should have realized that instead of being not happy to play some games, say, ‘okay, I am not 25-year-old, I cannot play every game, but I will help the young players and accept that situation and that’s my situation’.”
