Brentford’s Ivan Toney Pleads Guilty to Many Betting Charges, Faces Lengthy Ban
Footballer Ivan Toney has admitted to the “multiple charges,” for breaching the gambling rules set by the FA, according to the reports by betting on football games.
The Brentford player will reportedly be receiving a “lengthy ban” because of the revelation previous November that he was charged with 232 breaches with an additional 30 breaches in December.

Despite being in form this season, Toney failed to make into the England World Cup squad for the 2022 Qatar World Cup; however, Gareth Southgate, the English boss, admitted that his removal from the team had no relation with his FA investigation.
Toney has been stunning this current season, scoring four goals in seven matches ever since the domestic season has resumed after the World Cup.
However, Toney has pled guilty to many charges of the FA and the FA disciplinary hearing is being believed to be “imminent” as per the latest reports.

If the said ban is imposed on the English player, he will see himself getting being ruled out of the 2024 Euro qualifiers to be played against Italy and Ukraine next month.
After comparing Toney’s case with the case of Joey Barton’s back in 2017 the most likely outcome being predicted is a suspension which will last several months; Barton had been suspended for 18 months, which was later reduced to 13 months after an appeal.
According to the reports, Toney and his club, Brentford are both hoping for a swift execution of his suspension, so that the player could serve it quickly over the coming summer.
The charges by FA for the alleged breaches had taken place between 2017 February and January 2021 while Toney was with Scunthorpe, Wigan, Peterborough, and Brentford.
Thomas Frank, the Bees boss had spoken about Toney previously in December and said that he have tried to support him in every best possible way they could.
“You’ve seen all the statements we’ve put out there but for me the most important thing is that, looking at the player and the person, he is focused on the football,” he stated about Toney.
