Brentford’s Ivan Toney Charged by English FA With 30 More Breaches of Betting Rules

Ivan Toney, the Brentford striker has been recently charged by the English Football Association for conducting 30 more breaches of the betting rules set by the association.

Toney is currently ranked in the third position in the ongoing Premier League season with 10 goals. He was charged with a total of 232 alleged breaches back in November that he committed between 2017 and 2021.

Brentford, the west London club has commented in form of an official statement that it was informed by the English governing body of football about the additional 30 alleged braches.

Their official statement published on Tuesday read about the legal meetings with their player Ivan and his legal representatives.

“Our private discussions with Ivan and his legal representatives on this matter continue,” read the club’s brief statement.

Ivan Toney reportedly has only until January 4, 2023 to provide with a response. These mentioned alleged charges of breach have stemmed from the breaches he made between March 2017 and February 2019.

Earlier last month in November, Toney had said that he was in the process of assisting the Football Association with its investigation in the matter.

“Financial penalties, suspensions, and in some instances, lifetime bans,” was said by the Football Association about their strict betting rules that could be imposed on a player in case they are found guilty of it.
