Bournemouth 1-0 Liverpool; Salah Misses Penalty First Time in Premier League

Bournemouth, who had previously lost 9-0 to Liverpool this season, got their due of payback from the Merseyside club earlier on Saturday.

Liverpool’s celebratory mood after their rampaging victory against Manchester United was turned sour after Bournemouth gave them a 1-0 defeat in the hopes to get ahead of relegation threat and dreamy spot in the top four of the table.

Mohamed Salah, Liverpool’s starplayer missed an easy penalty which could have brought an equalizer for Liverpool at the 70th minute, his effort went wide off the goal spot.

Liverpool’s performance, which looked very weak and tame after their spectacular victory against United in the current match, making everyone think if the win against Ten Hag was a fluke, and they afterall, were not getting better.

Ouattara previously had missed a chance once to provide Bournemouth with a lead; however, later making up for the missed opportunity he successfully beat Van Dijk in a challenge, broke into the right side inside the area and crossed for Billing’s stunner.

Liverpool wasted an even bigger golden chance after they were awarded a penalty for Jota’s header striking the arm of Smith which was consulted with the pitchside monitor by the referee.

However, the usually stunning Salah, missed his penalty kick for the first time ever in a Premier League match.
