Bhuvneshwar already has the record for most overs bowled in Powerplays in T20I. and will be eyeing to make the record for most wickets his own as well.

  • Most wickets by an Indian pacer in T20I

A fine display in the Vishakhapatnam match took Bhuvneshwar’s tally of total wickets in T20I to 64. This means that he is only 3 wickets away from Jasprit Bumrah’s record of 67.

Although the highest wicket record in T20I for an Indian is currently held by Chahal, Bhuvi will be hoping to become the highest wicket-taking pacer for his country. And he has 2 matches to go in this series.

  • Most wickets against South Africa

With 6 wickets in this series, Bhuvneshwar Kumar took his tally of total wickets against South Africa in T20Is to 14. He now has the second-highest wicket against this team in this format. Since there are two more matches to go, Bhuvi is expected to make this record his own as well.

Bhuvi’s tremendous performance so far

In the absence of Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami, Bhuvi has anchored the Indian bowling. While other bowlers around him have been bashed left and right, Kumar has stood firm. And thus, has been rewarded with wickets.

In the three matches that he has played, Kumar has bowled 12 overs. and picked 67 wickets at an average of 12.83. He also has the best economy rate at 6.4 and the best figures of the series so far at 4-13 that came in the second T20I.

If India is to win this series, Bhuvneshwar Kumar will have to continue performing miracles with the ball in hand.
