BCCI annual contract: Suryakukar, Gill, Pandya likely to get huge upgrades in central contracts

There is no doubt regarding the fact that Suryakumar Yadav has been a top performer for the Indian cricket team in the recent year or so. Hence he is likely to receive a huge monetary reward from the BCCI.

The BCCI is very likely to announce their new annual contract in the coming days. And if reports are to be believed, there is going to be huge additions to the central contract list. Suryakymar Yadav is believed to be one of them.

Suryakumar to move up the ladder of BCCI contract

Currently Suryakumar belongs to the C category of BCCI contracts. But soon he might make a huge leap to the B category, based on his recent performance.

“Surya was in Group C but his performance in the last one year warrants a promotion to Group B at least, if not A. He is currently world No. 1 in T20I ICC rankings and is a serious contender in ODI team also,” news agency PTI quoted a source as saying.

However, Suryakumar is not the only one likely to get a pay raise. There are names like Shubhman Gill and Hardik Pandya, who are also in line of ascension.

Gill has been a formidable opener for India in the past year. Whenever he has opened the inning for India in the absence of Rohit Sharma, he has impressed the selectors. That’s why he is more than likely to get a raise from C category to B, just like Suryakumar.

Another player who is likely to make an entry into the A category is Hardik Pandya. The fearsome allrounder has made a handy contribution to Indian cricket. After returning from a back injury, he has been in phenomenal form that he displayed in T20 World Cup. as well as in the T20I series against New Zealand.

With possible chances of becoming the captain of the shortest format looming large, it has been reported that Pandya might be given an A category central contract.
