Barcelona Complete Signing Vitor Roque; Joan Laporta Talks on Future of Dembele and Fati

La Liga giants, FC Barcelona’s president Joan Laporta had earlier made the announcement that they have confirmed the deal for the new rising wonderkid from Brazil, Vitor Roque, and now it has officially been announced as a done deal.

The 18-year-old Brazilian forward had been catching the eyes of elite clubs all across Europe including Manchester United, however the Catalans succeeded in grabbing the talented young player from Athletico Paranaense before anyone else.

The Spanish champions had been chasing the wonderkid, Roque all this summer and although the financial details about the signing were not disclosed to public, as per the reports, Barcelona has agreed to pay around 40 million euros ($44.07 million) fee with 21 million in add-ons for 5 years.

The Brazilian wonderkid is being seen as a successor to the throne of the 35-year-old Robert Lewandowski.

Vitor Roque will be joining Barcelona from January 2024

According to the reports, Roque will be joining the squad led by coach Xavi Hernandez later in 2024 January as per the agreement.

The wonderkid had earned the first ever senior call-up by Brazil back in March when he had made a stunning performance for Paranaese, scoring 22 goals in a total of 68 appearances.

Joan Laporta speaks on Ousmane Dembele’s future at Barcelona

On the other hand, another Barcelona player Ousmane Dembele’s future has remained the talk of the town as his contract is set to expire next year in 2024 and his release clause of €50 million has gone active this summer.

If the rumours are to be believed, Paris Saint-Germain have been eyeing the Frenchman up so they could use him as a replacement for Kylian Mbappe in case he decides to leave the French capital.

However, club president Laporta has straight up refused any such rumours and stated that he was confident that Dembele would be signing a new contract with Barca.

Laporta stated that Dembele wanted to continue his time in Barcelona and was not in favour of going to any other team at this point. He also reinforced the fact that Dembele was a player who was very loved by all the technical office staffs, by him and also by the coach.

“..I am a great fan”, said Laporta.

We wee also provided an insight into the future of Ansu Fati by the club President, who stated that Fati had been very determined to make his own mark at the Blaugrana club despite a decline in form that led to him being disregarded as a first choice by Xavi.

It was being believed that Barcelona will be offloading Fati in this summer clearing out window to balance their squad; however, Laporta was seen praising Fati’s training and hard work, and stated that he was still in books of the club going ahead into the new season.
