Ballon d’Or 2023 winner ‘leaked’ as Lionel Messi goes up against Erling Haaland

The Ballon d’Or 2023 winner has been ‘leaked’, and recent football updates suggest that, Messi will claim his eighth Ballon d’Or award.

The Argentine already has seven Ballon d’Or’s to his name, which is more than anybody else in history. Furthermore, he is now set to be recognised as the greatest player once again after inspiring Argentina to World Cup glory in Qatar 2022.

According to SPORT, Messi will be handed the most prestigious individual accolades at a glitzy ceremony hosted by France Football in Paris on October 30.

Moreover, this award will pull him further clear of eternal rival Cristiano Ronaldo. The Al-Nassr and Portugal superstar has won the award five times.

Lionel Messi, who joined Inter Miami in the summer, is on the verge of becoming the first recipient of the Ballon d’Or to be playing their club football outside of Europe.

Furthermore in the process of adding another record, he will also beat Manchester City striker Erling Haaland.

Speaking on individual honours recently, Messi said that he has always prioritised trophies for the teams he represents rather than individual accolades.
