It was later reported that the pitch invaders were Oil Protestors.

The game was paused for a couple of minutes to allow Bairstow to change his gears. And it resumed like nothing had happened.

England having won the toss on a cloudy morning in Lord’s decided to bowl first. James Anderson did not have the best of start with the ball in hand though, as David Warner was able to get one ball to the fences, to open his and Australia’s account.

This wicket is expected to give more support to the bowlers, especially pacers. It has a rich cover of grass and some moister under it which will help pace bowlers in the longer run. It will be interesting to see how Australia copes with the new ball.
