Yuzvendra Chahal overtakes Dwayne Bravo to become Highest wicket taker in IPL history
Rajasthan Royals (RR) star Yuzvendra Chahal has leapfrogged Dwayne Bravo to become the highest wicket-taker in the Indian Premier League (IPL) history after he scalped his 184th wicket in the tournament history.
Playing against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Eden Gardens, Chahal has added a feather to his already impressive career and will now look to become the first bowler to scalp 200 wickets in the IPL.
Having come into the contest with 183 wickets, the writing was on the wall for Chahal to become the highest wicket-taker in the history of the game. During the 11th over of KKR’s innings, Chahal dismissed Nitish Rana to become the most wicket-taker in IPL history.

Kolkata Knight Riders scored 149 for eight against Rajasthan Royals in their Indian Premier League match on Thursday. Asked to bat first, Venkatesh Iyer top-scored for KKR with 57 off 42 balls after openers Jason Roy (10) and Rahmanullah Gurbaz (18) could not convert their starts at the Eden Gardens, both falling to seasoned left-arm pacer Trent Boult. Skipper Nitish Rana (22) too got out after getting a start.
In-form leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal finished with excellent figures of 4/25, continuing his fine run of form.
Rajasthan Royals are fifth in the standings with five wins and six losses through their first eleven games. On the other hand, Kolkata Knight Riders, who have played 11 games, are sixth in the standings with a record of five wins and six losses. Even though RR now leads KKR in terms of net run rate (NRR), the situation could swiftly change if they keep winning since a win for any team will put them in the top four.
