Overview: India’s schedule for ICC World Test Championship (WTC) 2023-25

In the next cycle, India, Australia, and England will play the most games with respective schedules of 19, 21, and 22 games. The upcoming cycle is probably going to stick with the updated regulations that were established for the prior cycle, which effectively means that each Test will count for 12 points for a victory, four for a draw, and six for a tie.

In the next two years, India’s WTC 2023-25 schedule will feature 10 home tests and 9 away tests, with no Test series against Pakistan or Sri Lanka.

As the top-ranked Test team in the ICC rankings, Team India will kick off the ICC World Test Championship 2023–25 in the Caribbean with a pair of Test matches against the West Indies starting in July. On the visit, India will also play five T20Is and three ODIs, with the final two T20Is taking place in the USA.

One of the main draws of this cycle, other from these away matches, is the five-match Border-Gavaskar Trophy series, where Australia will host team India in December 2024–January 2025 (tentative dates).

Indian Team’s WTC cycle 2021-2023 review

India produced mixbag of results in the WTC cycle 2021-23. They had some of the best results, that came in the form of away wins against Australia and England. However, not all overseas series were jolly for the Indian team. They suffered in the tough conditions of New Zealand and South Africa.

However, India’s WTC 2021-23 cycle saw them dominate at home once again. Some of the powerhouse in Test cricket; Australia, England, and New Zealand failed to procure right results in the tough conditions of India.

The home team was too powerful for their opponents and ensured a 100% win record at home soil in WTC cycle of 2021-23. Although their loss in England against Australia in the final was sore one, they will definitely be looking to bounce back harder and make sure to qualify for the final once again in 2025.
