Wolves 3-0 Liverpool: Klopp’s men suffer another humiliating defeat in Premier League

Liverpool’s season is simply getting more disastrous as now after suffering a shocking defeat from a relegation-threatened Wolves by a scoreline of 3-0 makes their bid for Champions League qualification increasingly unlikely and Klopp’s men are yet to win a PL game this year too. The Reds who were runners-up in the league last campaign, have been in poor form this time out and currently stand in the 10th position in the league table.

In this game, Liverpool got off to the worst start as Wolves had easily started to cut through their defence and then at the 5th-minute mark Hwang Hee-Chan cross went off the heel of Joel Matip and then it was an own goal. But the suffering did not stop there as six minutes later, the home side took a set piece and there was uncertainty at the back from the Reds and this allowed the debutant Craig Dawson to score his first goal for the club and double their lead in the match.

Wolves Pull Off A Shock Result

In the second half, Liverpool showed a lot of intensity and urgency to score but it was too late for them as Wolves had switched to a defensive gameplan and hence even the likes of Mo Salah and Darwin Nunez couldn’t make the breakthrough for the Merseyside team. But Lopetegui’s side killed off the game at the 71st-minute courtesy of a counterattack when Adama Traore was released down the right and he currently picked out the run of Ruben Neves who controlled the cross very well and scored.

It is still hard to believe that a team who were chasing an unprecedented quadruple last season have been performing not upto the mark as they have just one win from their last seven matches in all competitions and are still searching for answers. But this win takes Wolves out of the battle of relegation as they are now currently 15th with 20 points and 2 points ahead of the bottom three.
