WI vs IND: Ravichandran Ashwin clinch 33rd fifer in Tests; Achieves various milestones

Ravichandran Ashwin has been one of the undisputed greats of test cricket. The off-spinner has been instrumental for India in the longest format and has picked up more than 450 test wickets in test cricket 474 to be precise.

Although one can question his record in SENA countries there is no doubt that he is one of the best spinners when we talk about bowling in the Indian subcontinent. He was the fastest bowler to pick up 100 wickets in test cricket when he picked up his 100th test wicket in his 18th innings against the West Indies in 2013.

Interestingly people do not talk much about his white ball carrier but the experienced off-spinner has picked up 151 wickets in ODI cricket and 72 wickets in T20I cricket at an economy of 6.91 which shows that he has been handy in white ball cricket.

The ‘Jadeja Effect’

He has been breaking records and achieving milestones in every match he plays which is a good thing for him and Indian cricket. One of the reasons for his success in test matches is Ravindra Jadeja. The left arm spin of Jadeja has been crucial in exerting pressure from the other hand.

As it is said bowling is about partnership and the spin duo of Ashwin and Jadeja has formed a good partnership that has been serving the Indian team for over a decade, especially in red-ball cricket.
