Rishabh Pant, the wicketkeeper-batsman for India, has been sidelined with injuries sustained in a vehicle accident last year. On December 30, 2022, Pant was in a horrifying car accident when his vehicle hit a divider on the Delhi-Dehradun expressway.

Pant required surgery on his knee in addition to suffering multiple injuries as a result of the collision. Pant has been making progress toward recuperation ever since. Rishabh Pant’s return to the pitch has been highly anticipated by the crowd.

Pant was spotted batting on India’s Independence Day during a recreational function, which is encouraging. JSW, a subsidiary of Delhi Capitals co-owner Parth Jindal, organized the event.

Pant was seen going out to pound the ball out of the ground in a viral video on X, formerly Twitter, while cheers from onlookers accompanied the strike.

Given that the batter’s leg had been the most severely injured by the collision, the slight wobble down the pitch may have also given him more confidence.

Pant, who has been recovering at the NCA, attended an Independence Day party hosted by the JSW Foundation at a sporting venue outside of Bengaluru.

Throughout the event, Pant encouraged attendees to keep participating in sports.

“Once you keep growing older, you stop loving the game. One of the reasons is that there is a lot of pressure; you want to excel in life and do this and that.

“But enjoyment nahi miss karna hein life mein, (Don’t miss enjoyment in life),” Pant said in a video shared by Sangita Jindal, chairperson of JSW Foundation.

A fitness update on Pant was released by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) last month.

“He (Pant) has made significant progress in his rehabilitation and has commenced batting as well as keeping in the nets.

“He is currently following a fitness programme designed for him which includes strength, flexibility and running,” BCCI had said in a statement.
