Mitchell Starc in argument with de Bruyn

Bowling in great pain due to the finger injury, Australian speedster, Mitchell Starc on Day 3 of the ongoing Test warns Theunis De Bruyne. After De Bruyne left his crease too early and went well down the pitch not once but twice frustrated Starc couldn’t contain but burst out.

“Just stay in your crease, it’s not that difficult,” Starc was heard saying on the broadcast. ‘The line is there for a reason’

This prompted a shocked reaction from the commentary box, with former England quick Isa Guha simply saying: ‘My word!’

“A frustrated fast bowler there. He has a lot to deal with at the moment. That’s a long stream. It’s a loss of concentration from De Bruyne.” Aussie Test legend Adam Gilchrist said on Fox Cricket that he should be expected to be in considerable discomfort with that finger.

A disappointed, but smiling, Starc opened up about the incident further. Telling the Fox Cricket team that he could understand why anyone would flirt with leaving their crease at the start of a five-day game.

He’s halfway down Punt Road, isn’t he,’ he laughed on air, pointing to an iconic road near the MCG.

“It’s bad enough in white-ball cricket, I don’t know what’s needed in red-ball cricket. I just told him that if I have to put my feet behind the line, he can at least put the bat behind the line,” Starc said.
