Watch: Cristiano Ronaldo fever hits Iran as fans chase Al Nassr’s team bus

Cristiano Ronaldo and Al Nassr were shocked by the reception received by the fans as they prepare to face Iranian club Persepolis.

The Saudi Pro League club has travelled to Iran and will face Iranian champions Persepolis in the AFC Champions League opener at the Azadi Stadium in Tehran.

Furthermore, this will be Ronaldo’s first-ever match in Iran, and the fans have gone ‘crazy’ after the Portuguese star arrived in Tehran. Al Nassr have lost the last two fixtures against Persepolis, their last win came in 2015.

After the team bus arrived in Tehran, the fans went crazy on the streets and started chasing Al Nassr’s team bus. Moreover, some fans were also wearing Ronaldo’s shirt and held up a poster of the 38-year-old superstar.

Furthermore, the fans followed the bus till they reached the hotel. The Saudi club was forced to cancel the training session due to fans crowding to see Ronaldo.

Ronaldo had never played before in Iran, but this time Al Nasrr were drawn alongside Persepolis in the AFC Champions League. Furthermore, the striker will also travel to Tajikistan and Qatar in this season’s edition of the competition.

Al Nassr will face Persepolis on Tuesday September 19th, and both sides will look to get off to a decent start. New signings Aymeric Laporte, Sadio Mane, Marcelo Brozovic, Anderson Talisca and Alex Telles have also travelled with Al Nasrr.

Nevertheless, this sheds light on the significant move that Ronaldo made in January to join Al Nassr. Many fans who were unable to watch him in Europe can now see him play.
