MS Dhoni Lose Cool After Theekshana’s Costly Fielding Error During CSK-PBKS IPL 2023 Match

During the match between CSK and PBKS, captain cool MS Dhoni was seen losing his cool at Sri Lankan mystery spinner Maheesh Theekshana after he committed a fielding blunder. The incident took place during the 16th over of PBKS’ inning, when Purple Cap holder Tushar Deshpande was operating for CSK and Liam Livingstone was on strike for the Kings.

The Sri Lankan spinner failed to judge the ball properly and went for a dive. He, however, missed the ball completely and to make things words, the ball went for a four.

Seeing this reckless effort from Maheesh Theekshana, both Dhoni and CSK head coach Stephen Fleming gave serious reactions. In the dug-out, Fleming donned an irritated look and removed his hat. On the field, Dhoni looked furious with Theekshana letting the ball go past for four and muttered some words to the Sri Lanka, letting him know of his mistake.

This error from Theekshana did prove costly as the match ended on the last ball. With 3 runs needed off the last ball, Sikander Raza smartly moved across his stumps and pulled Pathirana over the square leg fielder and the pair of Raza and Shahrukh ran three runs to seal a nail-biting victory for Punjab Kings.

Shikhar Dhawan reveals the angry side of MS Dhoni

During an interview with Star, Shikhar Dhawan said, “I’ve seen the angry side of MS Dhoni. It was visible in his eyes, but he knows how to control his anger very well which attracts me a lot. He can speak even without speaking.” (Reported by CricWatcher11).

Chennai Super Kings suffered their fourth defeat of IPL 2023 on Sunday (April 30) when, during Match No. 41, they went down in a last-ball thriller against Punjab Kings. The Shikhar Dhawan-led side chased down the target of 201 runs at Chepauk Stadium to win the match by four wickets.

The win on Sunday was PBKS’ fifth in nine matches played so far, and with a total of 10 points, they have now jumped to the No. 5 position in the IPL 2023 points table. For the visitors, Zimbabwe all-rounder Sikandar Raza scored the required three runs on the final ball of the match to seal the deal.
