Warren Zaire-Emery: PSG confirm star’s injury absence, as 17-year old midfield metronome suffers knock during France’s historic win against minnows Gibraltar

In latest football news, Paris Saint-Germain suffered one of the worst blows this season when they came to know about 17-year old midfield prodigy Warren Zaire-Emery’s extent of injury. The youngster suffered a major blow on his debut game against Gibraltar, where former World Champions France ran riot against lowly Gibraltar.

Zaire-Emery: a midfield maestro

PSG seems to have got a gem in their hands, who needs to be protected at every cost. A side which has boasted of its plethora of midfielder among their ranks, ranging from Marco Verratti to Achraf Hakimi, they have got one more of the exceptional talents who can turn the game in their own hands owing to his exuberance and dribbling finesse. Warren Zaire-Emery, the 17-year old prodigy, has turned head over heels for the French giants in Ligue 1, and his performances have spoken for him in the French capital this season. PSG boss Luis Enrique, former Barca and Spain tactician, has spoke highly of the midfield stalwart, as he is often seen to be a perfect replacement of former midfield legend from PSG, Marco Verratti.

Owing to his mind-boggling performances this season in the domestic and European top flight, he was called by Didier Deschamps into the national squad for a couple of European qualifiers. And as expected, Zaire-Emery was asked to take the field in their qualifying game against minnows Gibraltar, as he started the game in a 4-2-3-1 formation alongside Adrien Rabiot. Deschamps saw his caliber and was impressed right away, with Zaire-Emery scoring his first international goal within 15 minutes of staying on the field. He scored the third goal of the game, and got his name etched in the history books by becoming the youngest starter for the French since 1914.

Limped off after an ecstatic start

What could have been an amazing debut for Zaire-Emery, he soon had to be taken off from the field owing to a horrific tackle from Gibraltar player Ethan Santos. It could have been a perfect start for his French career, as he could have scored more goals, but it was unfortunately cut short by opponent stopper Ethan, who drew a red-card for himself owing to this blunder. In an attempt to prevent Zaire-Emery from going ahead, Santos missed the ball and landed a mistimed kick on the Frenchman’s leg, thus getting an early bath. Zaire-Emery was seen limping off the field, grimacing in pain, with further reports awaited.

Last night, his club PSG had confirmed in an official statement that the metronome’s 2023 season is officially over as they mentioned, “Having suffered a moderately bad sprain to the right ankle, Warren Zaïre-Emery will remain in treatment until the winter break.”

As a result of this blow, Luis Enrique would be left to explore several available options to get over this season with, as he have to deal with life without Zaire-Emery, who had become one of the compulsory names in the team sheet in front of every game, owing to his brilliance and prolific game-awareness.
