Kohli did not show any signs of sickness when he came out to bat on Day 3. He had waited for 14 months for a half-century, which he finally achieved in this match.

After crossing the 50-run mark, Kohli set his sights on completing his century. In the first session of Day 4, Kohli batted patiently, without taking any chances.

Anushka Sharma made a shocking reveal on social media that Kohli was sick during the match. Despite his illness, Kohli played his heart out for the team and scored a century.

He was eventually dismissed for 186 in the final session of the day. Shreyas Iyer, who is down with a back issue, did not come out to bat, leaving India one batsman short.

Kohli’s innings will be remembered as one of his finest performances, playing while unwell and scoring a century against a strong Australian team. India will need to continue their strong form in the remaining matches to win the series.

Quickest batter to touch 75-century mark

After the first half-hour of the second session on Day 4, Kohli completed his century, becoming the quickest batter to reach the 75-century mark in international cricket.

However, fans were unaware that Kohli was playing while unwell. Despite being one batsman short, India scored a massive total of 571, with Kohli playing a crucial role in securing a 91-run lead.

Missed opportunity

Kohli was on track to score a double century, but he had to play a big shot as India wanted Australia to bat for a few overs in the final half-hour of the day. In the 179th over, Kohli was caught by Marnus Labuschagne off Todd Murphy.

Australia then came out to bat for the remainder of the six overs on Day 4, and they didn’t lose any wickets. However, India had an opportunity to dismiss Matthew Kuhnemann, but wicketkeeper KS Bharat dropped a catch on the last delivery of the sixth over. India needs to dismiss Australia early to secure a result. The home team currently leads the four-match series 2-1.
