Virat Kohli and Naveen-ul-Haq draw curtain on the mango episode, Shastri’s cheeky remark can’t be missed

It appears that yet another rivalry between people is over. The latest cricket news of the town is that the rivalry between Virat Kohli and Naveen-ul-Haq, which erupted during the IPL 2023 earlier this year and captured the attention of all during the India vs. Afghanistan World Cup 2023 match, was put to rest on Wednesday night as the two players chose to move past their controversial past.

To put an end to their conflict, Kohli and Naveen had a cordial conversation and a multimillion-dollar embrace. The incident happened in India’s chase in the 26th over. As Rohit Sharma was returning to the pavilion following his spectacular century that saw him shatter numerous records, Rashid Khan bowled him. However, on the way out, Naveen approached Kohli and shook hands with the former captain of India. Kohli’s face instantly brightened with a pleasant smile, and Naveen appeared pleased as well, indicating the end of what had been a somewhat acrimonious incident between the two international players a few months prior.

The wonderful moment was summed up perfectly by Ravi Shastri on air, who said: “An interesting development took place when Rohit Sharma was dismissed and Shreyas Iyer was coming out. This is what happened. Naveen-ul-Haq, Virat Kohli shaking hands with each other. And this is good. The crowd love it. You might have your things to say at the heat of the moment, but this is absolutely great to see,” before wrapping up the topic with a cheeky “Whatever happens, Naveen has to go back to the Virat Kohli pavilion” jibe.

The audience was focused on one thing from the moment this match started: seeing Naveen bowl to Kohli. It took some time, but in the twentieth over, when Kohli was out and Naveen was given the ball, the moment eventually arrived. With ten deliveries, Naveen gave Kohli just three singles. That confrontation, though, might intensify as the fire was put out soon after.

The Delhi fans caused Naveen trouble earlier in the day by yelling “Kohli, Kohli” each time the Afghanistan pacer was shown on camera. While Naveen was practicing with his teammates prior to the game, he received the treatment. The audience at the Arun Jaitley Stadium was most boisterous later, when Naveen came out to bat.
