Venkatesh Prasad deletes his ‘corrupt guy’ tweet, reposts it latter

Venkatesh Prasad is known for his fearless take on various cricket-related topics be it criticizing KL Rahul for his absence from international cricket or having a go at former Indian opener Aakash Chopra for defending the selection of the wicketkeeper batter as he has missed out on a majority of international assignments that India has featured in since 2022. The former Indian fast bowler has now allegedly criticized the ACC for adding a reserve day for only the India- Pakistan game in the super four stages of the tournament

The Tweet

Prasad wrote “It takes one corrupt, arrogant guy to take away the hard work of an otherwise non-corrupt organization and spoil the reputation of an entire organization & the impact isn’t just micro but at a macro level. This is true in every field, be it politics, sports, journalism, corporate.”

It is not yet confirmed for whom the tweet was intended but it is being speculated that Prasad targeted BCCI secretary Jay Shah who is also the head of the ACC for adding a reserve day only for the India- Pak game in the super four stage of the tournament which he deleted latter. People were quick to notice that and expressed their views on this incident.

The Clarification

However, Venkatesh Prasad posted the tweet again in the early morning hours on Sunday and clarified that his tweet was taken out of context after an X user asked him the reason for him deleting the tweet

“That was a general tweet where I spoke about how one person who is corrupt can undo a lot of good work of his organization and it can have large-scale implications on a macro level as well in any field. Since I was also speaking about the inefficiency of the BCCI around tickets in other tweets, it led to confusion and looked out of context. Hence deleted, Varna naam lekar khulkar bolne mein Rambhakt kisiko chhodte nahin, Jai Shree Ram” Prasad said. The former Indian fast bowler has been receiving praise from Indian fans for his tweets
