Texas Super Kings Squad: Devon Conway, Mitchell Santner, Ambati Rayudu Reunite With Coach Stephen Fleming In MLC
Chennai Super Kings (CSK) stars Devon Conway, Mitchell Santner, Ambati Rayudu along with Gujarat Titans’ (GT) David Miller will all be part of the Texas Super Kings‘ squad for the forthcoming Major League Cricket (MLC) 2023.
Notably, this will be the competition’s first season in the USA. Former New Zealand captain Stephen Fleming, who has led the Men in Yellow all these years in the IPL, will also serve as the team’s coach. Fleming also serves as the head coach for the Super Kings SA20 team.
Conway, Santner, Rayudu reunite with coach Fleming at Texas Super Kings
Conway, Santner, Rayudu, and Fleming, who were all a part of the Chennai team that won the IPL title in Ahmedabad last month, will now all play for the Super Kings franchise in the MLC, resulting in a mini-CSK reunion of sorts in Texas. Despite having stated that the IPL would be his final game in the league, Rayudu is now free to play in leagues all over the world, and this will be his first task.
Conway struck a 25-ball 27 and created the groundwork for a successful chase, earning Player of the Match honours in the IPL final that was postponed due to rain. However, it’s interesting to note that Dwayne Bravo, who served as CSK’s bowling coach during IPL 2023, will return for MLC as a player.
Along with the aforementioned players, the Texas Super Kings roster will also include Australian pace-bowling all-rounder Daniel Sams, who declined a state contract with New South Wales in favour of concentrating on T20 competitions throughout the world. Gerald Coetzee, who gained attention by finishing with 17 wickets in the inaugural SA20 to tie for third-highest wicket-taker, will also be a part of the Texas Super Kings lineup.
The Super Kings recruited former international players Sami Aslam and Rusty Theron during the MLC draughts in March. Saiteja Mukkamalla of the USA was also chosen. Other than Fleming, who will serve as the head coach, Eric Simmons and Albie Morkel will support him in his responsibilities.
