‘Somwehere Somebody May not be Happy’: TV Anchor Rajat Sharma Take Dig at Gambhir, Naveen After Kohli’s Ton

Virat Kohli, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) opener, ignited the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Thursday with his brilliant century against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).

After Kohli and Faf du Plessis launched an assault on the SRH bowlers, the RCB, who were chasing 187, stopped the “Orange Army” at their own fortress. The first hitters broke the season record for the highest partnership for a wicket.

They now have the second-highest opening partnership for RCB and the fourth-highest opening stand in run-chases in IPL history, both at 172 runs, thanks to their performance.

In the IPL, Kohli reached triple digits for the first time since 2019. After the 10th over of the chase, he changed up his approach, scoring 52 runs in 29 balls to reach the milestone.

When Kohli hit a six to get his century, RCB captain Faf du Plessis gave him a hug, and the entire Rajiv Gandhi Cricket Stadium exploded in celebration.

‘Somebody May not be Happy’: Rajat Sharma Tweets

Even before the opening batter received a standing ovation from the RCB dugout, folks on social media had already lost their cool. A few tweets that made a subtle jab at the Lucknow Super Giants team, however, attracted a lot of attention.

In addition to congratulating Kohli on his sixth IPL century, renowned journalist and former DDCA president Rajat Sharma noted that “somebody somewhere may not be happy.”

The remark was made in reference to Gautam Gambhir, who got into a heated argument with Virat Kohli during match number 43 of the IPL 2023 in Lucknow.

The playful tweet from Swiggy Instagram, on the other hand, appeared to be directed towards Naveen ul Haq. Few days after the altercation at Ekana Stadium earlier this month, the Afghan bowler teased Kohli on Instagram with a picture of mangoes.

In addition to praising Kohli, former Pakistani pacer Mohammad Amir tweeted, “What an inning by one and only the real king @imVkohli take a bow.” Fans believe that the Pakistani pacer praised Kohli in response to this tweet in order to make fun of Babar Azam.
