At the Trent Bridge in Nottingham, the left-arm pacer Shahid Afridi finished with figures of 4-0-29-4 to give a glimpse of the damage he can do. After the Outlaws asked the Bears to chase down 169, Afridi took his team off to an incredible start. His first delivery was a tad wayward as he leaked five wides, but from there on, he did not look back.

Shaheen firstly threw out Alex Davies with a lethal in-swinging yorker. Davies died in order to get a golden duck. The batter attempted a deliberate scoop with the very next ball, and Afridi rocked Chris Benjamin’s woodwork with a low full-toss.

Dan Mousley hit a single while Afridi was already on three, and then starter Robert Yates hit a single as well. Afridi, however, wasn’t by any means done playing after that. After Olly Stone made a stunning catch at short cover, he dismissed Mousley.

After shredding Ed Bernard’s poles to become on a hat-trick for the second time in the match, Shaheen continued to gain strength. To prevent Afridi from completing his hat-trick, Glenn Maxwell scored a single on the first ball of the third over. Afridi’s first over statistics in the meantime read 1-0-7-4.

Later, with five balls remaining in their innings, Maxwell, Jacob Bethell, and Jake Lintott scored 19, 27, and 27 without being stopped to help the Bears cross the finish line.
