No. 1 T20I batter, Suryakumar Yadav on Tuesday becomes the fastest Indian to hit 100 International sixes. Yadav took only 61 innings to achieve the feat.

The stellar Indian batter reached the milestone in the ongoing final ODI played between India and New Zealand at Indore’s Holkar Stadium.

Suryakumar Yadav becomes fastest Indian to 100 international sixes

32-year-old SKY made his International debut for the Men in Blue on 14th of March 2021 against England. Ever since he made his first appearance in the Blue jersey, Yadav has been a sensational figure. He has been impressing the cricket fraternity with his ball smashing skills.

Moreover, India has put New Zealand under great pressure after putting up a massive target of 386. Centuries from captain Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill laid a perfect foundation for the other batters to come and through their bat at the ball. Suryakumar coming to bat on the third down, as usual smashed a 9 ball 14, which consisted two maximums. Further, Hardik Pandya anchored the Indian innings with his 54 at a troublesome time.

Suryakumar Yadav sixes in each format

Having played 43 T20I innings, Suryakumar Yadav has hit a total of 92 sixes. The no. 1 T20I ranked batter has amassed a total of 1578 runs with an average strike rate of 180.43. In a span of just 2 years Yadav has smashed three centuries in the shortest format of the game at the biggest stage.

Moreover, Yadav has played a total of 18 ODI innings, in which he has smashed the ball for a maximum on 8 occasions. Suryakumar is yet to make his Test debut. However, he can soon be seen in the white Indian jersey against the mighty Australia.

Given the absence of flamboyant wicket-keeper batter Rishabh Pant, Suryakumar can be expected to play the role of a hard hitter in the test team. Considering how effective the ‘Bazball’ cricket has been for teams like England, India might be seen following the same path.
