Sacramento Kings Take 2-0 Series Lead After Defeating Golden State Warriors 114-106

The Sacramento Kings continued their impressive form by securing a 114-106 victory over the Golden State Warriors in Game 2, taking a commanding 2-0 series lead.

De’Aaron Fox led the way for the Kings, scoring 24 points, including a crucial three-pointer that helped seal the win. Fox and his team used the time that the referees spent reviewing Draymond Green’s hard stomp to regroup and refocus on the game, ensuring that they did not lose their momentum.

Green’s ejection a turning point in the game

The game took a heated turn in the fourth quarter when Green was ejected for a flagrant foul against Domantas Sabonis. Green’s ejection proved to be the turning point in the game, as the Kings capitalized on their opponent’s disadvantage to close out the game strongly. Sacramento became the first team in the Stephen Curry era to take a 2-0 series lead over the Warriors.

The Warriors will look to bounce back in Game 3, which will be played in San Francisco. Despite being reeling from two consecutive losses, Golden State’s star player Stephen Curry has urged his team to stay together and remain focused.

The NBA will now have to decide whether an ejection is all that was warranted, or if Green will face a possible suspension. During the review, fans in Sacramento directed derogatory chants towards Green, who in turn, egged them on by waving his hands and holding a hand to his ear.

Kings’ fans delighted with their team’s victory

The Kings fans were ecstatic as they witnessed their team secure another important win. The towel-waving crowd got behind their team and roared them on, as the Kings went on a 17-8 run to seal the game. Davion Mitchell’s three-pointer, which made it 112-103 with 1:18 left, effectively ended any hopes of a Warriors comeback.

Despite an impressive 28-point performance by Curry, the Warriors struggled to get going offensively, shooting just 3 of 13 from 3-point range, and committing 22 turnovers. Coach Steve Kerr acknowledged that the Kings played better than his team down the stretch and were more physical.

Malik Monk had another impressive game off the bench, scoring 18 points for the Kings, while Sabonis added 24 points. Curry led the Warriors with 28 points, but his team will have to improve if they are to avoid an early exit from the playoffs.
