Reports: Suresh Raina did not register for LPL Auction, still his name was added to auction pool

According to reports, Suresh Raina did not sign up for the current Lanka Premier League Auction (LPL) 2023. His basic price was set at $50,000 by the tournament’s organisers, who still added his name to the auction pool.

Online rumours of Suresh Raina signing up for the LPL Auction 2023 first appeared two days ago. Because Raina declared his departure from the IPL and domestic cricket last year to participate in other T20 competitions, fans believed the news.

Raina even took part in the Legends Cricket Trophy, the Abu Dhabi T10 League, and the Road Safety World Series. However, it now appears that the rumours about his playing in the Lanka Premier League were false.

Suresh Raina will likely return to the field in Road Safety World Series 2023

The former India team cricketer who announced his retirement from the game a couple of years ago is now prepared for the next phase of his career. Following his retirement, Raina has not been a part of the CSK squad for the past two years.

Raina’s absence from the Lanka Premier League means that his supporters will have to wait a few more months to see the 2011 World Cup-winning all-rounder play cricket once more. Probably in 2023, Raina will make a comeback to represent the India Legends in the Road Safety World Series.

Both the Abu Dhabi T10 League and the Legends League Cricket’s upcoming seasons are anticipated to take place within the same time period. Observing the competitions Raina competes in this year would be intriguing. Harbhajan Singh, a former colleague of Raina’s with the Chennai Super Kings, will shortly make a comeback. He will participate in Global T20 Canada for the Brampton Wolves.

The much awaited Lanka Premier League (LPL) ends. Dilshan Madhushanka becomes the highest priced sold player for a sum of $92,000. The Lanka Premier League’s eagerly awaited auction took place on June 14. There were about 360 participants that signed up for the auction. The main competition is scheduled to start on July 31 and end on August 22.

Players that sign up for the auction will be split into two groups: capped and uncapped, similar to the IPL auction.

Players who are subject to caps will pay a basic payment that ranges from $10,000 to $50,000 in $10,000 increments.

The 4th season of the Lanka Premier League 2023, Sri Lanka’s premier local T20 tournament with an international flair, has received a total of 360 registrations from players with and without international experience.

There are 204 local players and 156 foreign players among the players that have enrolled.
