Rana, Shokeen fined as they indulge in verbal duel during MI v KKR game

Kolkata Knight Riders skipper Nitish Rana and Mumbai Indians bowler Hrithik Shokeen have been fined 25 percent and 10 percent of their match fees, respectively for breaching IPL,s code of conduct.

The incident reached a verbal spat as the KKR skipper charged to Shokeen while the latter was bowling at Rana. After the Mumbai youngster dismissed Rana, the latter charged at him and exchanged some words.

It happened on the ninth over as Shokeen had a go at Rana, after dismissing him, but the KKR skipper, before heading for dugout, turned towards the bowler and engaged in the verbal battle.

Rana was caught at long-off by substitute fielder Ramandeep Singh, and Shokeen turned towards him to say something, and as a result, Rana indulged himself and both of them hurled abuses towards each other.

The spat was stopped after Mumbai’s stand-in skipper Suryakumar Yadav and senior-most player Piyush Chawla intervened, as the two Delhi players were separated from the verbal banter.
