PSG 2-0 Borussia Dortmund: Kylian Mbappe and Hakimi scores as Ligue 1 champions outclass Germans

Kylian Mbappe and Achraf Hakimi score for PSG as they open their Champions League campaign with a 2-0 win over Borussia Dortmund at Parc de Princes.

Both clubs have made a shaky start to their league campaign this season. PSG sits in 5th place after losing to Nice at the weekend, and Dortmund sit in 7th place in the Bundesliga.

The French giants were exposed by Nice as they lost the match 3-2. But this performance against Dortmund was more composed from them. Moreover, Milan and Newcastle drew their game 0-0 at the San Siro.

PSG now sit in 1st place in Group F after their win. Newcastle and Milan are just behind them with one point each. The Ligue 1 champions have never won this competition and will look to win the competition this season.

Even after signing Messi, PSG went out in the round of 16 for the second straight season. However, they have rejuvenated their squad heavily this season and even managed to sign former Barcelona coach Luis Enrique.

PSG beat Dortmund 2-0 to top the group on matchday 1

In the 58th minute Hakimi scored the second goal for PSG. The Moroccan swapped passes with Vitinha and cut inside a defender before curling the ball into the bottom left corner with the outside of his right foot.

PSG will now face Newcastle United away at St. James’ Park on October 4.
