Poland sack ex-Portugal manager Fernando Santos after just six games

The 68-year-old previously managed his native country Portugal for eight years. Furthermore, he helped Portugal in winning the Euro 2016 and the inaugural Nations League in 2019. But Santos left after the 2022 World Cup.

The Polish Football Association thanked Santos for his efforts before Santos said he was “grateful” to have managed the nation.

Poland’s captain and leading goal scorer Robert Lewandowski, started all six games under Santos. He scored three goals in six games, stretching his international tally to 81.
