Neymar reveals the reason that made him join Saudi Arabia club Al Hilal

Brazilian forward Neymar Jr left PSG to join Saudi Pro League club Al Hilal this week. He will earn almost $300 million in salary over two years of his contract.

Moreover, Ligue 1 club Paris Saint-Germain will get a fee between €90-100 million for Neymar. He now becomes the latest big star to join the Saudi Pro League, which boasts of Cristiano Ronaldo, the reigning Ballon d’Or holder Karim Benzema, and Liverpool legend Sadio Mane.

At first, he desired to return to his old club Barcelona, but Xavi was against his singing as he thought that he might disrupt the environment of the dressing room.

Moreover, the relationship between him and PSG was broken and both wanted to part ways, so, when Al Hilal came with a huge offer Neymar was tempted to accept it.

Neymar Jr praises Cristiano Ronaldo

“I believe Cristiano Ronaldo started all of this and everybody called him ‘crazy’, and this and that. Today you see the league grow more and more,” Neymar said.

“It is exciting, meeting top-quality players on the other teams thrills you and motivates you to play even better. And it is a given when you face Ronaldo, Benzema, (Roberto) Firmino, that the excitement is even greater.”

“I think it is very important to have quality in the squad. Obviously, it helps in some decisions you take throughout you career. It was certainly for me.”

“I am very excited to write a new story chasing all the objectives with the club and my team mates – winning more and more titles and fulfilling the club’s ambition.”

Neymar reveals why he joined Al Hilal

When Neymar was asked why is he leaving Europe to join the Saudi Pro League, he said: “I have achieved a lot in Europe and enjoyed special times, but I have always wanted to be a global player and test myself with new challenges and opportunities in new places.”

“I want to write new sporting history, and the Saudi Pro League has tremendous energy and quality players at the moment. I have heard a lot and learned that I am following a long list of Brazilian players. They have played in Saudi Arabia over the years, so I believe it is the desired place.”

Neymar will link up with new teammates Kalidou Koulibaly, Ruben Neves, Malcom and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, who all made the move to Al Hilal earlier this summer.
