Naveen-ul-Haq’s “Sweet Mango” Post During MI vs RCB IPL 2023 Game Sparks Fresh Speculation About Virat Kohli Spat

Afghanistan and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) pacer Naveen-ul-Haq has become an overnight sensation in the Indian Premier League (IPL) due to his on-field spat with Indian batter Virat Kohli.

The incident led to Gautam Gambhir getting involved and created quite an uproar. Despite the episode being over a week old, Naveen’s social media reach has increased significantly as fans keenly follow his posts.

Naveen’s Cryptic Instagram Story

On Tuesday (May 9), Naveen posted an image on his Instagram account showing him watching the match between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Mumbai Indians (MI) at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium. The game was high stakes for both teams. In the picture, Naveen was seen having a mango and wrote a cryptic caption stating, ‘Sweet Mango’s.’

During the match, Kohli had a rare poor outing with the bat and was dismissed for just one run. Left-arm pacer Jason Behrendorff dismissed him when Kohli tried to take him on by stepping down the line. However, the late swing got the better of the former RCB skipper as he edged the delivery into the hands of Ishan Kishan. While the on-field umpire gave it a not-out, MI skipper Rohit Sharma took a replay, which showed a clear edge.

Despite Kohli’s early dismissal, RCB posted an impressive total of 240 runs, thanks to Faf Du Plessis and Glenn Maxwell’s massive scores of 65 and 68, respectively. Both players scored half-centuries. Dinesh Karthik also played a useful cameo of 30 in 18 balls. In response, MI managed to score only 198 runs, giving RCB a comfortable win.

As far as Naveen is concerned, he is currently in Goa, according to his previous stories. LSG has a six-day gap between their matches, and it seems like the players have taken the chance to unwind. They will next take the field on Saturday (May 13) against Sunrisers Hyderabad.

The Spat Between Naveen and Kohli

It seems that the clash between Naveen-ul-Haq and Virat Kohli is not going to die down anytime soon. Both the players were involved in a war of words during RCB’s match against LSG at the Ekana Cricket Stadium last week. The issue escalated so much that the two players not only confronted each other during the match but also gave rise to a spat after the game as well.

Naveen’s on-field spat with Kohli led to ugly scenes that have made him famous across the country, with many blaming him for the episode. However, the incident has helped increase his social media presence, with fans following his posts keenly.
