Key fast-bowler Naseem Shah left the field of play with a right arm injury during the opening Super Four game of the Asia Cup, giving Pakistan cause for concern. After receiving treatment from the physio, he soon made his way back to the field.

Naseem was fielding at fine leg when the incident happened during Shaheen Afridi’s eighth over of Bangladesh’s innings. Naseem performed a full-length dive to his left before holding his arm in discomfort as Mohammad Naim flicked the delivery off his pads to the fine leg boundary. He was helped off the pitch after lying prone on the ground for a spell with the physio’s assistance. As Naseem’s replacement, Mohammad Haris entered the scene.

In good news for Pakistan, Naseem returned to the field at the conclusion of the 11th over after being evaluated to determine the degree of the injuries.
