Mushfiqur Rahim tries football to prevent getting bowled but fails against New Zealand

During the third one-day international between Bangladesh and New Zealand on Tuesday at Dhaka’s Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium, Bangladesh batsman Mushfiqur Rahim was dismissed in a bizarre manner that stunned social media.

In the 16th over of Bangladesh’s innings, Mushfiqur sliced a Lockie Ferguson delivery towards his stumps and, in an effort to avoid being out, decided to kick the ball away. The ball struck the stumps before he could attempt the save, and as a result, he ended up unsettling them even more with his shoes. The type of the dismissal was a little unclear, but the umpires decided to call it a bowled.

Earlier, Najmul Hossain Shanto, the captain of Bangladesh, chose to bat after winning the toss.

With a 1-0 series lead after their 86-run victory in the second game on Saturday, New Zealand will be aiming for their first series victory in Bangladesh in 15 years.

Rain caused the first game to be abandoned.

When the series was on the line, Bangladesh reinstated mainstays Najmul Hossain Shanto, Mushfiqur Rahim, and Shoriful Islam after initially resting crucial players.

Tamim Iqbal, Soumya Sarkar, and Mustafizur Rahman were absent, while Liton Das, who had led the team in the first two games, was given a break.

In their two substitutions, New Zealand gave Dean Foxcroft his ODI debut in place of Chad Bowes and replaced Kyle Jamieson with Adam Milne.

The match is the last for both teams before the World Cup starts in India on October 5.

New Zealand beat Bangladesh by 7 wickets

New Zealand seal the series with a comprehensive victory! After the first ODI was abandoned due to rain, the Black Caps have put in back-to-back clinical performances and have clinched the series with a 2-0 scoreline. This is the first bilateral series win for New Zealand in Bangladesh since 2008.

Batting first, Bangladesh managed to reach a decent total of 171. Notably, out of 76 runs came off captain Najmul Hossain Shanto’s bat. The rest of the team crumbled against the Kiwi bowling lineup.

In pursuit of a modest total, Finn Allen got off the blocks quickly with three back-to-back boundaries against Shoriful Islam in the very first over. As the Bangladesh pacers fought back with tight lines and lengths, the two openers showed good respect by leaving balls outside off. A

t the same time, they were equally good in pouncing on the loose deliveries to keep the scoreboard ticking. With the wickets of Finn Allen and debutant Dean Foxcroft off successive deliveries, New Zealand stuttered a bit and found themselves under pressure. Will Young took matters into his own hands and started to run away with the game with the support from Henry Nicholls.
