Mohammad Naim Sheikh walks on fire while preparing himself mentally for Asia Cup

The Bangladeshi batter walked on fire for ‘Mind Training’ before the multi-nation tournament

The Asia Cup is just a few days away and the teams have already started preparing for the multination tournament. While Pakistan and Bangladesh have already announced their squad all eyes are on the Indian selectors who will meet on August 21 to select the squad. Talking about Bangladesh the Asian tigers are leaving no stone unturned while preparing for Asia Cup. Although the team is void of some big names like that of senior batter Tamim Iqbal Bangladesh is still a force to reckon with, especially in the fifty-overs format having made the final last time the tournament was played in this format in 2018. They would be hoping to replicate the performance of the 2018 edition this time around.

Mental Preparation

Bangladesh would be banking on a blend of experience and youth from the likes of Shakib, Naim, Litton, and Mushfiqur who will form the core of the team’s batting lineup. In order to prepare himself for the Asia Cup Bangladeshi opener Mohammad Naim Sheikh has gone on a ‘fiery’ path, quite literally. In a video that is being shared widely on social media Sheikh can be seen walking on fire as part of ‘mind-training’ ahead of Asia Cup. Naim has been in good form of late he had a good BPL season and has been around the Bangladeshi team for quite some time. The batter will have the responsibility of giving a good start to Bangladesh in the absence of Tamim Iqbal.

Change in venues

The coming edition of the Asia Cup which was scheduled to be played entirely in Sri Lanka will now be played in a hybrid model in Pakistan and Sri Lanka with Pakistan deemed as the host of the tournament. Interestingly the previous edition of the Asia Cup which was hosted by Sri Lanka was originally scheduled to be played in Pakistan but PCB interchanged the venue with Sri Lanka. India was crowned as the Champions when Asia Cup was played in fifty overs format last time.
