Mumbai openers Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan led the home side to a flying start with an opening partnership of 61 runs. Considered one of the top spinners in this game, GT spinner Rashid Khan was quick to dismiss both in the same over with a blink of an eye. Leaving the MI side concerned.

Despite this, Suryakumar kept scoring at a positive rate before upping the ante towards the latter end of his knock. He took on West Indian pacer Alzarri Joseph, and smashed him for a six and a four in the 15th over, before hitting confident Rashid for a boundary to bring up his half-century.

The IC No. 1 ranked T20I batter smashed veteran Mohit Sharma around all around the stands in the 18th over of the innings, hitting him for three boundaries and a six. He continued the onslaught against the in-form Shami, smashing him for a six and a couple of boundaries to help MI cross the 200-run mark in the penultimate over.

More importantly, the 32-year-old brought up his hundred in style by smashing ex MI player Joseph for an incredible six in the final ball of the innings.
