Early Career at Werder Bremen

Mesut Ozil was a well-known football player in the 2010s, known for his excellent ball control, creativity, and ability to create chances with crucial passes. He was born on October 15, 1988, in Gelsenkirchen, Germany, to Turkish parents.

Ozil started his professional career at Schalke 04, where he joined the club’s youth academy at 17. He made 71 appearances for the club, scoring six goals and providing six assists.

Ozil then moved to Werder Bremen in 2008, where he made 108 appearances, scoring 13 goals and providing 38 assists. His performance during the 2009/10 season, where he provided 24 assists in all competitions, was particularly noteworthy.
