New signing Mateo Kovacic picked up a muscle injury, and no return date has been given for him. The Croatian will now miss the European Championship qualifiers against Latvia and Armenia.

Ederson Moraes suffered a foot injury in City’s 4-4 draw against Chelsea this weekend. According to reports, the injury occurred in the second-half. Athletico Paranaense shot-stopper Bento will replace him in the Brazil squad.
The 30-year-old started in Brazil’s all four 2026 World Cup qualifiers, but now Alisson will get the notch. Ederson can also be a doubt for City’s upcoming clash against Liverpool after the international break.
Nathan Ake is another player who will be ruled out of the upcoming international matches. Ake didn’t travel with the squad to London over the weekend.
Moreover, neither the club nor Pep Guardiola has revealed the injury the Netherlands international has suffered. Since moving to Manchester City in 2020, Ake has missed 38 matches for club and country.
