Marcus Rashford signs new five-year contract with Manchester United

Marcus Rashford has signed a new long-term deal with Manchester United after rejecting approaches from other clubs to remain at Old Trafford.

The new deal will keep him at the club until 2028, this will also see his wages bump to £400k per-week.

Many Premier League clubs were also interested in signing the home grown player. However, he has starred under Erik ten Hag and has become one of the most in-form players of the team.

Rashford’s statements after signing a new deal

Marcus Rashford said: “I’ve already had some amazing experiences at this incredible club, but there is still a lot more to achieve and I remain relentlessly determined to win more trophies in the years ahead.”

“As a United fan all my life, I know the responsibility that comes with representing this badge and feel the highs and lows as much as anyone.”

“I can assure you that I will give everything to help the team reach the level we are capable of, and I can feel the same determination around the dressing room. I couldn’t be more excited for the future under this manager.”

Marcus Rashford signs new contract with Manchester United until 2028

Last season Rashford enjoyed one of the best seasons of his career for his boyhood, as he scored 30 goals and provided 11 assists in 56 games across all competitions. He also helped Man United to win the Carabao Cup and finish in the top 4.

Rashford came through the academy at Old Trafford and made his first-team debut in a Europa League clash with FC Midtjylland in 2016, in which he scored twice as United won 5-1.

The 25-year-old has since scored 123 goals in 359 appearances for the club, winning the FA Cup, the League Cup twice and the Europa League in the years since making his debut.
