Man United 0-3 Man City: Haaland bags a brace as City seal Derby win in style

Erling Haaland scored a brace for City as Manchester City handed rivals Manchester United a 3-0 defeat in the Manchester derby, in football match news.

The Norwegian broke the deadlock in the 26th minute after referee Paul Tierney gave a penalty to City as Rasmus Højlund had pulled Rodri’s shirt in the box. Haaland made no mistake and gave his side an early 1-0 lead.

Man United were struggling to make any impact in the game, but Scott McTominay forced a stunning save from Ederson with a first-time effort just before the half-time whistle.

In the second-half, things got bad to worse for the Red Devils, as City scored their second goal after Bernardo Silva crossed the ball to Haaland who scored a powerful header to increase the lead.

Onana later denied him for a hat-trick as well. Nevertheless, Haaland provided an assist to Phil Foden after Rodri’s shot was saved by Onana as it landed on Haaland, who squared it off to Foden.

Haaland inspires Manchester City to ‘easy Derby win’

The brace against United has put Haaland on 13 goals in all competitions this season. The Norwegian had a slow start to the season, but he is getting back in form.

With this win, City now sit in third place in the Premier League standings, just two points behind leaders Tottenham Hotspur.

On the other hand, United’s four-game streak in all competitions has ended, they now sit in eighth place in the table with just 15 points.

Man City will face Bournemouth next week on 4th November at the Etihad. Erik ten Hag’s side has a difficult fixture against Newcastle United in the Carabao Cup on 2nd November.
