Luka Modric refuses to rule out January exit from Real Madrid

Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric has refused to rule out a possible exit in the January transfer window if he continues to struggle for minutes.

Modric has only managed to play 388 minutes out of 990 this season, and has just started four games in all competitions. So, if the situation with the Croatian does not change, a exit in the upcoming window cannot be ruled out.

Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti was asked about Modric’s limited role in the team this season. Nevertheless, the Italian emphasised how important Modric is and ruled out the idea of a possible departure in January.

When Modric was asked about his future, he said: “Well, I wouldn’t want to speculate at this point. There’s still plenty of time until winter and the end of the year.

“As I’ve mentioned many times, at my age, you can’t plan too far ahead. You have to take it one day at a time, from game to game, and see what the future holds.”
