Lautaro Martinez: Inter Milan and Argentine star convicted for ‘sacking dying babysitter’, releases an official statement

Football Updates: In one of the unexpected turn of events for Inter Milan captain Lautaro Martinez, it is reported that Italian court has convicted him of “unfair dismissal”, when he had fired his babysitter who was suffering from a serious illness, later succumbing to his fate.

Lautaro convicted of “unfair dismissal”

Lautaro Martinez has been one of the heroes for the Nerazzuris since last season. He has been handed the captain’s armband and has weighed up on that responsibility till date, owing to his exploits in the field. But he seems to have been entangled in one of the unfortunate events off the field when Italian news outlet “Fanpage” has reported that the Labor Section of the Court of Milan has affirmed that the “dismissal” was “illegitimate” and now Lautaro needs to compensate with the girl’s family.

It was reported that El Toro had hired the babysitter, 27, but she was hospitalized eight months later with “severe pain in the abdomen”. It was further confirmed that her stay was extended at the hospital, which led to the decision of Inter skipper on sacking her as “she had exceeded the maximum limit foreseen for absences due to illness.”

It was said that the girl’s lawyers had immediately refuted her dismissal, as El Toro’s lawyers had disagreed on settling the matter, before it went in the hands of Labor Judge of the Court of Milan. The lady passed during the lawsuit, and Martinez was forced to pay legal costs and “payment of a sum as compensation to the heirs of the young woman.”

Lautaro breaks silence on social media

After staying silent for a prolonged period, the Argentina striker had opted for breaking the silence and proving his point when he took to social media to explain this situation. He mentioned on Instagram, “I decided to remain silent for a long time out of respect for a family that has never had it towards us. But I will not allow them to disgrace my family. We hired an already ill person, a friend of ours for a lifetime, until unfortunately she could no longer work because her illness did not allow her to. “

He further mentioned, “We did a lot for her and her family; we paid for the tickets for them to come here, we helped them find a place in the hospital which was full, we helped with treatment and to find accommodation for her family who we had to convince to come take care of their dying daughter. After giving them everything they waited until their daughter was dying and was not lucid to try to get money from us and take advantage of the situation. And even after her death they continued to insist and it went very badly for them.”

Lautaro expressed his angst on the situation as his family is bearing the brunt when he said, “Now after the sentence it comes out that we didn’t want to take away even a single euro because it wasn’t appropriate; we gave our help, great help to her when she needed it and now they bring this up to try and shame us? What kind of person do you have to be to exploit the death of a daughter to get money?”

Currently, El Toro is with the national squad, training alongside compatriots in their upcoming fixtures of World Cup qualifiers.
