Lamine Yamal breaks 82 year old El Clasico record

Barcelona youngster Lamine Yamal has achieved another milestone in his career after coming on as a substitute against Real Madrid in a 2-1 defeat, in football match news.

The teenager became the youngest-ever player to feature in the fixture at 16 years and 107 days. Furthermore, he has broken the record of Vicente Martínez, who was 16 years and 278 days old when he set the previous feat for Barca in 1941.

Yamal already is Barca’s youngest-ever goalscorer while still holding the record as the youngest starter for the club and Spain.

The La Maisa prodigy was promoted to the first team following Ousmane Dembele’s departure to PSG in the summer.

Lamine Yamal didn’t start the game, as Xavi preferred to start Joao Cancelo on the right. However, he replaced the Portuguese in the 77th minute of the game.

Nonetheless, Yamal played on the left wing as Raphinha occupied the right wing as he also came on in the 77th minute, replacing Joao Felix.

Yamal could not inspire Barcelona to a victory as Jude Bellingham stole the show at the Montujic. The Englishman scored a brilliant goal from outside the box in the 65th minute and scored a winner in the added time as Los Blancos won the game 2-1.

Nonetheless, Yamal’s Clasico feat is simply the latest in a growing list of personal milestones for the Spain prodigy this season.
